That is, I'm giving up some money this morning to support an awesome cause. Melissa Jacobowski, a long-time friend of mine and a super rad gal, is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Team In Training. She is personally looking to raise $1,700 for research, treatment, and awareness of blood cancers, and will be running in the Seattle Rock'N'Roll Half Marathon this June as part of the LLS Team In Training.
Why should you donate?
For one thing, it's EASY. I donated this morning in just a couple of minutes and didn't even have to miss one sip of coffee while doing so.
My second point would be that giving just feels good. It's backed up by anecdote, by ancient philosophies as varied as the Old Testament to Taoism, and even modern scientific studies.
If you're still not sure, go read Melissa's own reasons for the fundraiser on her page and tell me this isn't a cause that you want to support.
